Across the Elexon Electronics manufacturing floor, every machine has its place, its purpose and now, thanks to VMG Print Group, its own sign.
Clear identification is a small, yet major detail within an advanced electronics manufacturing environment, especially on a busy production floor. Clear identification can make the difference between a process that flows and one that is interrupted. The new machine signage, supplied by Judy Woolf and the team at VMG Print Group, helps our people identify equipment quickly, understand the facility more easily and move through their work with greater confidence.
For Elexon Electronics, the project supports our broader commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement. Visual management gives our team immediate information about the production environment, reducing ambiguity and bringing greater consistency and order to the production floor. It also reflects our belief that the right tools and systems can make work both more productive and more enjoyable for our people.
The project marks the latest chapter in a relationship between Elexon Electronics and VMG Print Group that stretches back almost 30 years.
VMG began as Markit Graphics Pty Limited, initially producing licence plates before expanding its capabilities and achieving ISO 9001 quality certification in 1997. Today, the Australian business operates across four divisions encompassing automotive products, mudflaps, electronics and signage.
Our relationship began when the electronics business that preceded Elexon Electronics was still known as IEDEC. VMG supplied labels, decals and membrane switches, the screen-printed electronic circuitry found beneath control panels and buttons. As our manufacturing capabilities, facility and customer requirements evolved, VMG continued to adapt alongside us.
That shared history has given VMG an understanding of our business that cannot be developed through a single project. It has been built through decades of collaboration, changing production requirements and a mutual commitment to Australian manufacturing.
For Judy, the principles underpinning the partnership remain straightforward: quality, honesty and respect for everyone involved, from staff and suppliers to customers.
“We see everyone as part of our team. We work as a team with our clients and suppliers. We’re in this together” Judy said.
These values closely reflect Elexon’s own culture of collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement. Strong supplier relationships bring new perspectives into our business and help us find practical ways to advance how we design, manufacture and deliver advanced electronics.
After nearly three decades, the materials and applications may have changed, but the foundation of the partnership has not. From printed circuitry and decals to signage that brings greater order to our factory floor, VMG Print Group continue to be proud partners of Elexon Electronics.
Each new sign identifies a machine, but together they represent something much larger: almost 30 years of a shared journey, between two Australian manufacturers continuing to improve, side by side.
“We are so proud to have Judy and the team at VMG Print Group as our trusted partners, they have always been there for us and always get what we need to us, when we need it, regardless of lead time. Thank you Judy and team!”
