Elexon Electronics Upskilling Program
/in News & Updates /by Sandra SimpsonElexon Electronics is excited to announce that we have been awarded the Skilling Australia’s Defence Industry grant, after being recognised by the government as an important advanced manufacturing provider for the defence sector.
Skilling Australia’s Defence Industry grants provide businesses servicing the defence sector with upskilling and training opportunities to build skills capacity and capability to meet current or future Defence needs.
The entire grant will be allocated to upskilling and development of the brilliant Elexon Electronics team, with training across project management, business skills and IT, Agile and Lean management.
“Team development and upskilling is one of the growth pillars of Elexon Electronics,” Elexon Electronics Marketing Manager, Sandra Simpson, explained.
“Understanding there is a growing workload across our roles, Elexon Electronics has secured funds for a staff upskilling program that will help us to get the best use of various software, programs, and techniques available to us so we can become more efficient and improve our work/life balance.”
Training will be provided across the coming months by SA Partners, Citadel Secure, and the Learning People.
Employees will undertake the following training:
Lean and Agile project management training to improve Elexon’s manufacturing capability to compete with international electronics and PCB suppliers for defence projects. This will be completed through two training programs:
(leading to Lean Manufacturing)
(20 employees across the group)
Prince 2 – Project Management Course (7 employees)
Business skills – Variety of programs and skills (12 employees)
This training builds on the work completed by SAAB, through a CDIC/ODIS grant, to complete our recent cybersecurity uplift.
These three separate training programs will be undertaken using a flexible online delivery option provided through The Learning People education platform.
Once this training is completed, Elexon Electronics will be able to demonstrate to domestic and international Defence Agencies and Primes, that we have the capability to deliver high-end electronics manufacturing work packages as a Tier One or Two supplier.

Elexon Electronics signs first Rheinmetall DEAL!
/in Uncategorized /by Sandra SimpsonAfter two arduous but highly rewarding years, filled with intensive preparation to become a defence supplier, Elexon Electronics has been awarded its first contract with Rheinmetall Defence Australia.
Through Land 400 Phase 2, Rheinmetall Defence aims to provide ‘armoured survivability, mobility and lethality’ to the Australian Army’s mounted combat reconnaissance capability.
LAND 400 Phase 2 will provide the Army with 211 Boxer combat reconnaissance vehicles, which Rheinmetall will assemble at their facility in south-east Queensland.
Elexon’s initial work on this project is the delivery of Power Supply PCA ZS8000G245 units. Delivery of the first Article Inspection Samples is scheduled for 1st November, but due to component shortages the whole project is spread over a period of 7 months.
Elexon Electronics is supplying the Land 400 Phase 2 project via multiple partners. Enclustra, one of the European Rheinmetall partners, engaged Elexon in the manufacturing of their complex boards for the same project. Through our recently acquired partnership with Supashock, an Adelaide based company, Elexon will also supply Land 400 Phase 2 with 3 assemblies for Anti-Tank guided missile ATV and
a Turret controller.
In light of recent events in Ukraine and China’s enormous military build-up, there is growing concern that Australia needs to prepare for a war with a major power. Elexon is proud to be part of the process and support our national sovereignty.
