Minister Butcher showcases Elexon Electronics at the Australian Manufacturing Week

Queensland’s Manufacturing Minister Glenn Butcher met with leading innovators at the Australian Manufacturing Week, running from Tuesday 9 May until Friday 12 May 2023 in Melbourne, and highlighted there Elexon Electronics’ cutting-edge capabilities.  Australian Manufacturing Week attracts innovators and technology specialists from around the world, and the event serves as a vital networking and professional development opportunity for anyone working in the sector.

With a focused objective of highlighting Queensland as the ultimate destination for manufacturers, Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing Glenn Butcher showcased Queensland manufacturing success stories such as Elexon Electronics.

Elexon Electronics is based in Brendale and since 2019 when the business received their first government support via the Made in Queensland grant, Elexon has doubled its manufacturing capacity, implemented aerospace quality standards and started supplying to defence customers. Just in the past month Elexon employed eight new assemblers and plans to move to a new and larger purpose-built facility in the soon-to-be-developed Technology Park in Petrie.

Minister Butcher emphasized, “Our great state is home to some of the world’s leading manufacturers, offering an array of exceptional benefits that are highly attractive to businesses seeking new opportunities. We are also keen on forging connections with industry’s foremost innovators, exploring the latest technologies and processes that can enhance efficiency and productivity on the factory floor.”

Elexon’s CEO, Frank Faller, enthusiastically shared, “We have recently implemented industry 4.0 manufacturing processes, revolutionizing our facility and establishing an unprecedented manufacturing capability tailored specifically for the defence and aerospace sectors. Our state-of-the-art setup, unique in Australia, positions us as formidable contenders in the global market. We leverage the platform of Australian Manufacturing Week to showcase our enhanced capabilities, demonstrating to international customers that they need not look beyond our shores for cutting-edge solutions.
