Elexon Electronics has recently launched an apprenticeship program aimed at providing an opportunity for new workers to gain a Certificate III in Electronic and Communications. The initiative is supported and co-funded by the Queensland government to help address the ongoing skills shortage in the manufacturing industry.

The first apprentice to benefit from this program is William Leighton, a recent high school graduate who has already completed the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start). William will work under the supervision of experienced professionals such as Alan Maher and Gayleen Priest, while also receiving TAFE training at school.

The apprenticeship program at Elexon Electronics is committed to four years until the successful completion of Certificate III in Electronics and Communication.

This unique blend of on-the-job learning and TAFE training will equip William with the necessary skills to excel in his career.

Elexon Electronics is excited about this opportunity to provide new employees with the needed skillset and help address the ongoing problem of staff shortages in the manufacturing industry. With the support of the government and TAFE QLD, the apprenticeship program at Elexon Electronics is an excellent example of how public-private partnerships can create win-win situations for all parties involved.
