Elexon welcomed eager first-year students from the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) on April 28, for their annual pilgrimage to our ever-growing manufacturing facility.

Students were given a warm Elexon welcome, followed by a tour of our manufacturing facility, and to round things out Group CEO Pieter Kuiper gave an inspiring presentation to plant the seed of possibility in the students’ minds.

The annual visit was facilitated by Senior Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering, Dr Adrian McCallum, offering students an all-access ‘show and tell’.

Following the huge success of last year’s visit, where Leigh Bateman talked to the students about IEDEC, long-term partnerships and key successful products, the University made the return trip!

Dr McCallum organised last year’s tour as a way to introduce students to different engineering pathways, focusing on a few successful and innovative local businesses.

After walking away impressed with Elexon, following last year’s student visit, Dr McCallum actually stepped in to assist Elexon Electronics with Defence engagement and he also supported TPS.

The students were exposed to electronics engineering as a future career path, with a particular focus on Manufacturing Engineering, Embedded Firmware, Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

We look forward to one day calling these students our industry peers, and if we’re lucky we may even call some of them colleagues!
